Sunday morn chat scene - care to join in?
Posted by michellemoquin on July 6, 2008
Wow, lots to cover today with some of you and not much time. I slept in late and it felt so good. So, I will try to be, brief, quick and to the point. The sun is out and I want to get out there and enjoy - how about you?
Hi Anonz: I was wondering if you were going to go at it with BC. I look forward to the read as your commentary is always so informative and truthful. And I am pleased that you find my writing insightful too. It is work writing every day. I have no background in expressing myself this way; it is very new to me and it challenges me knowing that readers check in on daily basis expecting something interesting, fun, enlightening, what ever. I rarely do anything half-assed which is a huge motivating factor.
In regards to my little joke, you are not left out of the loop…it is no secret that Tal and Madaline are an item and that they would do almost anything for each other. I was just giving maddie some shit for contacting you first when I have been trying for days to communicate with her. As I mentioned, just a little funnin’ with Maddie at your expense. I hope that I did not offend you.
FYI: I think you’ve already made a lasting first impression, but I understand. We all have some vanity when it comes to our physicality. I am sure you will be just fine. :)
However speaking of…Looks like a newbie has just arrived: Hi Kim. Thanks for joining the chat scene. I am curious if you have tried to comment before or are you just an avid reader? I am so stumped why some of you get in and others don’t. Anyway, moving back to Marin? I’d love to hook up with a blog fan.
Hello Doug: You know how much I appreciate being able to cultivate my creativity, passions, etc. I’m trying to work smarter and not so hard these days. You know what I mean…:)
Maddie, maddie…so good to hear from you. You have been busy researching. Thank you. I guess I assume that with your expanded intelligence, you can just ‘tap’ into a subject and download it into that brain of yours. Why I assumed that is kind of illogical as I think about it. I know half of the fun of learning is the experience of learning it but there has always been a part of me that wished, especially with subjects that have not held my interest, I could just stick a chip my brain with the subject at hand, download it and immediately have access to it - you know, like a computer.
Anyways, I keep reading your report over and over and all I can say is that we are in deep shit in so many areas because of the bush boys. If I am understanding you correctly, the car companies basically shot themselves in the foot by only making gas guzzling cars, thanks to their obligation relief from Bush. Now it is back firing because the public is no longer buying that type of car (no surprise why!) and they are going down, big time. And of course those getting laid off are suffering the most. Were they that short sighted or just blinded by their own greed? I kept wondering a few years ago why all of these big gas guzzlers were being manufactured when supposedly we were all thinking so ‘green’. The tax incentives for the SUV’s and all of the people that benefited from that one tells you too what was on the mind of some of the consumers. Did they ever think that gas would be where it is now?
So we’ve got gas prices inflating and house prices declining. I was watching Larry King, (I think it was his show - I came in on the tail end) about a week ago and he had on a few guests speakers such as Trump and a few others giving advice on the recent housing decline. I know so many people who have bought houses with no money down and now they are suffering because the rental market rates aren’t even close to covering their notes. Banks aren’t even taking phone calls. With the housing market the lowest it has been since the 30’s many are suffering. We’re even having problems selling our house when in our neighborhood we have foreclosures and constantly lowering prices.
But back to gas…what, if anything, can we as citizens do right now? Is there action we can take or do we just need to wait it out and suck it up so to speak. A new president is not soon enough.
I know Tal and Latifa have been keeping you busy but don’t disappear.
Readers: As I am sure all of you have noticed, I received a comment yesterday from China. I pasted the comment in a few on-line translator programs so that I could read it. I am not sure if all of the wording was translated correctly, but most of the programs provided me with pretty much the same translation. So, I am going to include it here so that you, my readers can read it too. I have also included my response to June in both english and Chinese so that she can read it too. How fun this is!
Your good US

( I have used an on-line translator program, so I hope that the translation is clear.)

Quick and brief - did I say that? Okay I’m done. I will end it with this: Last night I had something really cool happen. I’m not going to get into it right now ’cause it is already getting late in the day and I need to post. Catch you tomorrow - I hope that your 3-day holiday has been fun! Ciao Ciao.
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle ♥
