Sunday morn chat scene - care to join in?

Wow, lots to cover today with some of you and not much time. I slept in late and it felt so good.  So, I will try to be, brief, quick and to the point.  The sun is out and I want to get out there and enjoy - how about you? 

Hi Anonz:  I was wondering if you were going to go at it with BC.  I look forward to the read as your commentary is always so informative and truthful. And I am pleased that you find my writing insightful too.  It is work writing every day. I have no background in expressing myself this way; it is very new to me and it challenges me knowing that readers check in on daily basis expecting something interesting, fun, enlightening, what ever. I rarely do anything half-assed which is a huge motivating factor. 

In regards to my little joke, you are not left out of the loop…it is no secret that Tal and Madaline are an item and that they would do almost anything for each other.  I was just giving maddie some shit for contacting you first when I have been trying for days to communicate with her. As I mentioned, just a little funnin’ with Maddie at your expense. I hope that I did not offend you. 

FYI: I think you’ve already made a lasting first impression, but I understand. We all have some vanity when it comes to our physicality. I am sure you will be just fine. :)

However speaking of…Looks like a newbie has just arrived:  Hi Kim. Thanks for joining the chat scene. I am curious if you have tried to comment before or are you just an avid reader? I am so stumped why some of you get in and others don’t.  Anyway, moving back to Marin? I’d love to hook up with a blog fan.   

Hello Doug: You know how much I appreciate being able to cultivate my creativity, passions, etc. I’m trying to work smarter and not so hard these days.  You know what I mean…:)

Maddie, maddie…so good to hear from you. You have been busy researching. Thank you. I guess I assume that with your expanded intelligence, you can just ‘tap’ into a subject and download it into that brain of yours.  Why I assumed that is kind of illogical as I think about it. I know half of the fun of learning is the experience of learning it but there has always been a part of me that wished, especially with subjects that have not held my interest, I could just stick a chip my brain with the subject at hand, download it and immediately have access to it - you know, like a computer. 

Anyways, I keep reading your report over and over and all I can say is that we are in deep shit in so many areas because of the bush boys. If I am understanding you correctly, the car companies basically shot themselves in the foot by only making gas guzzling cars, thanks to their obligation relief from Bush.  Now it is back firing because the public is no longer buying that type of car (no surprise why!) and they are going down, big time. And of course those getting laid off are suffering the most. Were they that short sighted or just blinded by their own greed? I kept wondering a few years ago why all of these big gas guzzlers were being manufactured when supposedly we were all thinking so ‘green’. The tax incentives for the SUV’s and all of the people that benefited from that one tells you too what was on the mind of some of the consumers. Did they ever think that gas would be where it is now?

So we’ve got gas prices inflating and house prices declining. I was watching Larry King, (I think it was his show - I came in on the tail end) about a week ago and he had on a few guests speakers such as Trump and a few others giving advice on the recent housing decline. I know so many people who have bought houses with no money down and now they are suffering because the rental market rates aren’t even close to covering their notes.  Banks aren’t even taking phone calls. With the housing market the lowest it has been since the 30’s many are suffering. We’re even having problems selling our house when in our neighborhood we have foreclosures and constantly lowering prices. 

But back to gas…what, if anything, can we as citizens do right now? Is there action we can take or do we just need to wait it out and suck it up so to speak. A new president is not soon enough.  

I know Tal and Latifa have been keeping you busy but don’t disappear. 

Readers: As I am sure all of you have noticed, I received a comment yesterday from China. I pasted the comment in a few on-line translator programs so that I could read it. I am not sure if all of the wording  was translated correctly, but most of the programs provided me with pretty much the same translation.  So, I am going to include it here so that you, my readers can read it too. I have also included my response to June in both english and Chinese so that she can read it too.  How fun this is!

Ladies: Are you ‘married’ or do you have a ‘husband’?

Good morning!

How is everyone feeling today after yesterday’s big bang? I am pleasantly mellow. That is such a california thing to say. Anyway…hmm…what is on the agenda today? Relationships are on my mind….

They say, (not sure who ‘They’ are) that if you are ‘married’ in a relationship, then you must be a working woman.  Whereas, if you are not working, or at least not working to make a living, or living a life of leisure, you are supposedly well taken care of, therefore, you have a ‘husband’.  Meaning, while you’re sitting at home eating Bon Bons (and I’ll add my little didley) with your thumb up your ass, tee hee - I just love saying that and I tease my hubby all of the time when he calls me asking me what I am doing - the hubby is out makin’ the big bucks and bringing home the bacon…or er ‘the salami’ :) Is this blog making too many sexual innuendoes lately? Oopsy. 

So….ladies, which are you?  I’ll tell you what I am: Both and Neither.  I am a self-ruling, very creative woman in between careers right now, hanging at home, perusing the potential positions on-line while my resume is in the hands of a professional.  Could I be a lady of leisure? To a certain degree…and, to a certain degree I already am.  Even though my ‘husband’ says, ‘What’s mine is yours and what’s yours is yours’, a little joke between us, I still like checks written out to ‘Michelle Moquin’ and not just the ones from my ‘husband’. Serving others and being a positive influence in this world is much more important to me than ‘eating Bon Bons with my thumb…’…well, you got the rest.  Nothing wrong with anyone living a life of leisure in how ever they please…I’m not about to stand in the way of your ‘L, L and the Pursuit of Happiness’, but for me I can only shop and indulge myself for so long. Eeek! Did I just say that?! Then I have the need to give back, and do something good. To me, it isn’t just a one time thing, but a way of life that brings me so much joy and satisfaction.

Oh, and a quick note: We do not have children.  Children thrown into the equation changes the entire scenario whether you have a job outside the house or one at home taking care of the kids. I don’t care how much money one has, or how much ‘help’ one has, children are a huge responsibility and sitting around ‘eating Bon Bons…’ is not a common scene in ‘married with children’. That being said, children are also no excuse for someone to not ‘do their part’ for this planet. After all, the impact on the planet is a lot more substantial the more children people have. Okay I am getting a bit off subject here.

Anyway, so yes and no. I am living a quite leisurely life thanks to my hubby who knows I am a bit frustrated with this in between-ness. (I know that is not a word but it feels right, therefore I will take creative liberties.) I am grateful that he has always given me the space and the support to take all the time I want, whether I pursue a passion in the form of work or whatever else suits me.

What about you ladies out there:  Are you ‘married’ or do you have a ‘husband’? To those of you who are single…what’s your desire, a ‘merger’ or an ‘acquisition’?  Blog me.

Latest Update:

I have just been informed by the aliens that most of you out there can not get through to me via my blog or my email because of government intervention. I apologize that this has been happening, and will most likely continue as long as the numbers are there. This blog is considered a threat.  I know you are out there reading daily and I want you to know how much I appreciate that you are and that I am annoyed that I can not correspond with you.  My natural rights are being violated and really so are yours.  I also want you to know that rest assured, I am not a U.S. government misinformation site.

Happy Birthday America!

“Land of the free and home of the brave!’ ‘Come to America where you too can live the American dream!’….’that is if your government will step aside and allow you Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness.’

I decided in honor of our great nation….god that sounds so canned…oh well…I decided to share with you a section of ’The Declaration of Independence’, a so-called radical document of its time. 

‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.’

Let’s break it down:

It states that ‘all men are created equal’ - Yes, but let’s leave out penis size and intelligence, and then we can say ‘all men are created equal’. (chuckle:)  But the more important question to ask is, ‘Are they treated equally’? We all know the answer to that one. Need I say more?

Okay next:  We are endowed by our Creator ‘with certain unalienable rights’ - meaning, rights that are absolute, non-negotiable, ones natural rights. Hmm…sounds good…looks good on paper, but let’s look at those rights: ‘Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness’. ‘Life’: Okay, we are living, breathing human beings…but it is also the right to grow and live…you know, no one should harm another person by taking their life from them, aka: ‘Don’t kill another.’ Unfortunately this happens every day.  ‘Liberty’: FREEDOM!! - George Michael sang it best. But seriously, it gives us the power to choose. And not in the sense of being unrestrained but more in the sense of being able to choose different possibilities. And the last natural right: ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’ - Meaning, go for it - your dreams, what ever…BUT, in the process, make sure that you don’t harm anyone or violate their natural rights in the process. This is where ‘do unto others…’ might come in handy.

Next….’That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, (We won’t even bring up the lack of women here) deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.’ - That’s us - we are the governed ones.  We are giving them, the government, power through our permission; to protect our rights from threat. Enough said. Clear? 

‘That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.’: Basically if the government is treating us unfairly and denying us our rights: ‘Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness’, then it is not protecting our rights.  When all is said and done, if the government is not protecting our rights then they can be replaced. Uh..can we replace them NOW!

So..Readers: These are my thoughts. Maybe you feel differently - share. How do you think our government is holding up these days? Blog me.

Oh…and let me just say…I’m not down on our forefathers…not at all. I’ll use Anonz’s words, ’cause they’re good ones, and say that, ‘The Declaration of Independence’ was an idea that felt good. I genuinely feel that it was written with good intentions. It’s just too bad that as time went on the good intentions got lost somewhere between selfishness and greed, and in the forms of racism and sexism to name a few.

Do I sound like I am ending this on a downer note?  I don’t think I am being untruthful…but it is the 4th if July, Independence Day.  It is a celebratory time!  The United States is still the best country to live in. And don’t get me wrong…I am so grateful for all that I have and most of all for all of the choices and possibilities available to me.  We may be ignorant at times but we are blissful! (tee hee hee:)

Just funnin’ with maddie at your expense. You have proven you are much more than just a handsome face. Speaking of…how is the face?  And the added two?  You don’t have to answer that :) Stop me now please…(I just can’t get dick off my mind today!:) 

Anyway…back to maddie…

I have been emailing you and trying to talk to you for days on my blog - Are the lines down? I think not. Frankly, it is BS that you and the girls have taken a leave, let me remind you, an unauthorized one. Po’d that I haven’t unleashed you and the girls? Or just too busy…but too busy to show face? Too busy to entertain us with your bitch badinage and enlighten us with your worldly knowledge? Am I sounding a bit sarcastic here? - excuusse me. I don’t mean to be…

This n’ that political chitchat…and questions…always so many ???

Hey Viv:  Thanks for your comment (I think). It leaves me feeling a bit depressed and hopeless and I don’t like to feel that way. Sometimes I feel that there is not much that the average person can do in order to affect change…and I don’t like feeling that way either. You say Israel has no real clue, but how could they? The average American person is even more clueless to the daily corruption.  And with the economy today, people are just trying to survive. No excuse that our/their lack of knowledge in this administration and a complacent attitude is an impetus to all of this madness.  But how does one keep up? I could be on this computer 24/7 and still not feel totally informed or even trust that what I am reading is factual.

The republican party is up to no good as usual it seems, and the fact that they can and will create a national emergency again (I am a believer that the twin towers was a repub-created atrocity) is simply unspeakable.  If Obama gets in I hope that he exposes the corrupters of both parties. Is it possible to clean the slate?  Can one man be that efficient? 

A lot of our country is weighing on Obama getting into the White House. This country will not live through another republican president. McCain will just be more McSame-Same. You say, ‘AH finds this so interesting’…is that the only word he can come up with.  ‘Interesting’ is not the term I would use to describe what is happening to our country. I am assuming AH’s ‘democratic baby’ is Obama? or who? AH:  Care to chime in and share with me and my readers the ‘issue of the day’?

How can we ever get ahead or get a fair trial when our Supreme Court Justices are bought and paid for in pennies on the dollar when compared to the livelihood of our country?  Will Greed ever cease to run this country?   

I am tempted to plug the girls in, rev up their powers, and get medieval (just love that! - Thanks to Pulp Fiction:) on some white asses…how much more can we take? 

Hi ZL: Referred on my blog? Oh, I don’t know - I just remember hearing on the radio and thinking, ‘Wha’at?!”…didn’t like the ‘nickname’ from the get-go.

Suit up

Hellooo….

Ready to don on your suit? No dear alien friends…We’re not talking human suits here…nope this is a swim suit that gives the Olympic swimmer an edge; 40 records have been broken since this past February when this suit was worn.  We’re talking the one and only Speedo LZR Racer Model. For a mere $550 bucks, this made in Italy swimsuit could win you the gold.  The caveat:  It only lasts 4-5 swims and one must be extremely patient when putting it on. First timers: It’ll take you 30 minutes to get it on. The real experienced ones can do it in 5. But no matter how experienced you are, you better have your nails trimmed, and no yanking or tugging or your mucho expensive suit will tear; a disaster you don’t want to experience. Even swimmers who have lucrative deals with rival swimwear companies are breaking away and donning this suit to wear in the Beijing Olympics.  

Why all the fuss?  When you can increase your time by up to 2 seconds, you’d be crazy not to if the competition is all over it! This suit has been tested to create compression in certain areas and to reduce drag in others. It only gets 6.5% heavier when wet, a major advantage. And the corset-like stabilizer across the abdomen holds the body in position giving the swimmer a greater advantage to maintaining their form through a  physiological and bio-mechanical effect. Wow - are you getting all of this?  It’s also seamless - no sewing or gluing. They now laser cut the fabric and then ultrasonically fuse the fabric to create a seamless effect, meaning less drag. How cool is that? In testing, the fabric breaks before the seams do, which is probably why it only lasts through 4-5 swims.  I guess these Olympiads better not push it through that one last swim or we may see something more than we bargained for at the Olympics this year! :)

Election 2008 quote of the week

I know this is totally off subject but I just couldn’t resist to include this in today’s entry since I recently read it:

First Obama was labeled ‘Exotic’. That one bugged me….Now the latest is a quote from Grover Norquist,  who is labeled as a conservative activist who negatively critiques Obama on his liberal attitude in regards to his stance on economic issues and such;  and terms Obama: 

“John Kerry with a tan.”

Hi Adam:  I wanted to get back to you. I was not quite finished with the whole Hercules bit but it seems it went into a direction it was supposed to go.  Anyway, you said, ‘His story was designed to condition a subconscious thought for humanity to follow.’ I guess it worked. Men and women have been conditioned as you have pointed out.   I am trying to grasp everything that you said and apply it to my needs, my reasoning for asking in the first place. So I will continue…If one were to change history, change the course; the story, so that women would be considered equal to man, how would the story change? Okay, so our dear Hercules didn’t have a choice in his actions, but what about Hera? Besides, not forgiving Hercules for something he had no choice in, which showed weakness on her part, what would you suggest Hera had done anything differently back then to change our conditions now, if any? I know you can’t change history,  (or maybe you can :) and you have given us advice for the present time, but one can certainly learn from the past and apply it to today’s world. And what about Zeus? Was he just standing back observing to see how it would play out, much like Carr who is doing the same with Howie?  Just curious. Thanks for the research you have done and for the advice you have given.  I look forward to chatting with you further.

What is a Politician doing in the Doctor’s office?

The woman’s right to choose is back on my agenda today. Are you familiar with  the abortion law in South Dakota? Thanks to the signature of Gov. Mike Rounds, the bill would make it a crime for doctors to perform an abortion unless the procedure was necessary to save the woman’s life. It would make no exception for cases of rape or incest. Hmm..let’s see, could it be as Adam pointed out a few days ago that this is because ‘women are inherently a distraction or impediment to the accomplishments of man…’ Oh so of course it is her fault for getting raped, therefore…sorry, you have to have the child. This makes me ill.  I see many women saying, ‘Fuck that.’ and crossing over the state line. What if crossing the line wasn’t a solution?

When The Governor signed this bill in 2006, he expected the law would be tied up in court for years and the law would therefore not take effect unless South Dakota state got the case to the US Supreme Court and won. This is promising because the Legislature expects the law to give the Supreme Court an opportunity to overturn Roe, making an abortion ban constitutional.  It would take 5 justices to overturn Roe. Remember Madaline’s STR? (Scalia, Thomas and Roberts - the trio of crooks she mentioned in a few blogs back) Scalia and Thomas have clearly indicated that they would vote to overturn Roe, and abortion opponents have high hopes that fellow conservatives Roberts and Alito will join them.  

I agree with Madaline.  The Supreme Court should be represented by at least 5 women. Where were the voices of the American women when all of these men got appointed? Including myself? - I am to blame too. I have to be honest, and this is no excuse, but my head was in the sand when it came to this and other important issues that could now have a lasting effect on the livelihood of myself and women in this country. 

So what’s next? Now, they are inching their way even further to make an abortion ban constitutional and one way they are going about it is by preying on those getting the abortions by STRessing them out through an emotional guilt trip in the process. How are they doing this? Now the ‘Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals has lifted a preliminary injunction against a South Dakota law that requires doctors to tell women seeking abortions that the procedure ends a human life, deciding that the law is likely constitutional.’  What if a doctor doesn’t believe that an abortion ends a human life?  To me this is all about legislating a religious belief, not about legislating a fact.  Who decides when life begins and when it becomes a human?  For everyone it is different. This isn’t about providing factual information to the patient; it’s about pushing ideologies.  This places politicians between women and their doctors. For it to be a law that doctors must tell their patients this, that they must read ideological language to women seeking abortions is completely mindless not to mention totally bias. This violates the doctors free speech rights by enforcing them to say something that they may not believe.  And just as bad, they intend to put a guilt trip on the woman for doing it by preying on her vulnerable emotions.  This is what the Doctors are now required to say to these women:

‘The abortion will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being.’  And…they must also say that they have a right to continue a pregnancy and that abortion may cause women psychological harm, including thoughts of suicide.’  Can you believe this? Who says this is a whole, separate, unique, living human being?  Fine if you believe that but don’t put an emotional guilt trip on someone who doesn’t, and don’t make it a law for a doctor to have to tell what he may not believe.   And why not present the other side? What about women who have a child and have thoughts of suicide? Those women exist too.  Oh yeah, to STR there is no other side. The court has given South Dakota doctors 21 days to start complying with the law.

I know many of us live in California and we could never imagine something like this happening in our own liberal state, but we must look at what is happening in our own country and not get complacent in our own little worlds. Our rights are being taken away, chipped away on a daily basis. It is not enough to tell our daughters; we must show action too and be exemplary in our behavior.

For me, my strongest passion has always been to protect the animals and the environment, for they are the voiceless.  But I have come to realize that unless I as a woman am considered an equal to a man, my voice as a woman will mean nothing….My presence a mere distraction and my actions something to tolerate.  I can’t let that happen.
